Hymn 517

Rooted and built up in him.

C.M. Col. 2:7.

TEACH me yet more of thy blest ways Thou holy Lamb of God; And fix and root me in the grace So dearly bought with blood.

Oh, tell me often of each wound, Of ev'ry grief and pain; And let my heart with joy confess, From hence comes all my gain.

For this, oh, may I freely count Whate'er I have but loss; And ev'ry name, and ev'ry thing, Compar'd with thee, but dross. Engrave this deeply on my heart With an eternal pen: That I may, in some small degree, Return thy love again.
